Fees and Payment Policy

Since 1976, Sardis Animal Hospital has been dedicated to providing top-quality veterinary care.

Our fees have been structured to support this level of service. They are comparable to similar veterinary hospitals throughout Canada, and they are in accordance with BC Veterinary Medical Guidelines.

What do our fees reflect?

Unlike human hospitals, our facilities and equipment are not subsidized; instead, our funding comes entirely from the hospital. As a result, our fees reflect hospital overhead, materials, time, and staff’s degree of expertise and qualifications.

What will your visit cost?

Every case is unique. We encourage pet owners to have an open dialogue regarding pet care expenses. We will do everything we can to be open and honest about the cost of care. Current fees for visits, vaccines and routine procedures can be quoted over the phone. Whenever possible, we will give an accurate estimate of costs prior to services or procedures. Additionally, hospitalized pets will have their daily cost of care added and updated. If you have any concerns about the costs of proposed treatments, please let us know as early as possible.

When is payment due?

For routine services – including exams, consultations with or without your pet, lab work, and purchase of food or medications – payment is due when services are rendered. For surgeries and hospitalizations, a minimum 50% deposit may be required at the time of patient admission to the hospital. Any remaining balance will be due upon your pet’s release. For your convenience, we accept payment by cash, MasterCard, Visa, and Interac.


Pet Insurance – The cost of pet care continues to rise!

Pet Health Care Insurance has allowed many pet owners to afford and provide a level of care they otherwise could not. Unfortunately, your pet insurance company will not provide payment directly to Sardis Animal Hospital. Instead, you will be required to pay in full at the time of your visit and then submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement. We will be happy to assist you in finding a reputable insurance provider and helping you complete your claim form.
