Methodology
At Sardis Animal Hospital our primary goal is wellness through prevention.
We know that the most effective approach to good pet health is preventative care. Not only can preventative care help save your pet from the discomfort of advanced illness, but it can also help save you from the stress and expense of treatment. Through annual wellness exams, client education, and routine care focused on prevention, we can help your pet live a longer and healthier life.
From the moment your dog or cat becomes a member of your family, we’ll work together with you to create a wellness plan that suits your pet’s unique circumstances.

Annual Wellness Exams
Wellness exams are the best way to monitor your pet’s health. Our comprehensive annual exams help provide early disease detection, which allows for early treatment and reduced long-term costs.
Behavioural Counselling
Understanding your pet’s behaviour can help you recognize if something is wrong. Inappropriate pet behaviour can be a sign of a medical, social, training or environmental issue. Our Doctors and staff can help address your concerns and help your pet become a happier, healthier member of your family.

Your pet is in good hands with our knowledgeable, highly trained staff.
Dental Care
Dental disease in dogs and cats is very common and too often overlooked. Left untreated, it can lead to unnecessary pain, loss of teeth and loss of function. Poor oral hygiene can be the source of bad breath, gum disease and organ damage. Not only can this cause animals constant pain, it can actually shorten their lives Read about our comprehensive dental care options here.
Diagnostics
When your pet is sick or injured, what’s bothering them may not be obvious from the outside. Our diagnostics services, including urine and blood work, x-rays, and ultrasound imaging, allow us to delve deeper and identify exactly whats happening in your pet’s body.
Emergency Care
As your pet’s primary care provider, we are equipped to handle the emergencies that may arise – day or night. All of our doctors have emergency training and experience, and our knowledgeable, trained staff will ensure the high standard of care for your cat or dog you have come to expect. International Travel
If you’re planning on travelling abroad with your pet, chances are you’ll need a few things, including a certificate of good health. Contact us before your departure to arrange for a wellness exam and any necessary vaccinations. We’ll provide you with a certificate for land or air travel, as well as any necessary medication to prevent parasites abroad.
Nutrition
A healthy, nutritious diet builds a foundation for well-being and disease prevention throughout your pet’s life. As your dog or cat ages, their nutritional needs change. We can help you decide which food is best for your pet during each stage of his or her life.
Parasite Control
Fleas, ticks, and intestinal worms can seriously harm your cat or dog. We can examine and perform screening tests on your pet for parasite infestations at our hospital, and help you tackle prevention at home. We keep our hospital stocked with an effective and safe arsenal of pest control medications for your pet.
Permanent Identification
For your peace of mind, we offer two permanent identification services: microchipping and tattooing. These quick and safe procedures can help reunite you with your pet where removable collars and tags may fall short.
Pharmacy
We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos and parasite control products to meet the needs of your pet, in addition to a full line of prescription diets by Hill’s.
Vaccinations
Basic vaccines protect pets from serious and sometimes fatal diseases. We create individually tailored vaccine programs based on your pet’s lifestyle, exposure to other animals (at kennels, daycare, etc.), and their risk of preventable diseases. For more in-depth information on vaccines we commonly administer, visit our Vaccinations page.
And More
As an AAHA-accredited animal hospital, we’re on the forefront of advanced veterinary medicine. If you have questions about a service you don’t see here, just ask; there’s a good chance we’re equipped and trained to do it.

Wellness Plans
Our Wellness Plan is how we approach everything we do. Our ultimate goal is a pet that lives a longer, healthier, happier life. Starting with annual physical exams, our Wellness Plan includes appropriate vaccinations, nutrition counselling, flea and tick prevention, and disease prevention. We will also discuss your plans for breeding or schedule the spay/neuter for non-breeding pets. For more information about spay or neuter, visit our Puppies & Kittens information page.
We also may discuss socializing your young or new pet, behavioural issues and basic training, regular exercise and the right diet. A lost animal is heartbreaking, so we offer identification services such as tattooing and microchip implants for your peace of mind. Last, we will discuss any questions or concerns you may have, especially concerns that have developed since your last visit. Over the span of an animal’s life, new concerns develop during each stage, and we are here to help you address them.
At Sardis Animal Hospital, we believe wellness means a total lifestyle approach. The Wellness Plan is your key to a healthy life for your pet and a satisfying relationship for you both.
