Arden Powell, DVMHospital Director
Dr. Powell graduated in 1988 from WCVM and he has been with us since 1990. He is the current owner of the Sardis Animal Hospital. Honest, patient and dependable, Arden has made an excellent Director. He looks forward to visiting new parts of the world.
Jack Anvik, DVMVeterinarian (Retired)
Dr. Anvik graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1975 and founded Sardis Animal Hospital in 1976. He loves his family, sailing, and playing guitar. He is also a Diplomate of the ABVP, in Canine and Feline medicine and surgery.
Carli Ricka, DVMVeterinarian
Dr. Ricka graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 and has been with us since 2006. Fun, confident and enthusiastic, Carli is a great leader in our team. She loves her husband and four kids, fitness, trail running, and learning piano.
Christa Dunsford, DVMVeterinarian
Dr. Dunsford was raised in the Maritimes and attended veterinary college on Prince Edward Island. Christa is unflappable and has a calm and reassuring demeanor. When not working with dogs and cats, Dr. Dunsford enjoys spending time with horses.
Rikke Danoe, DVMVeterinarian
A 2002 graduate of the Royal Veterinary University of Denmark, Dr. Danoe has been with us since 2014. Kind, patient, friendly and always helpful, Rikke is a great addition to our team. She loves friend and family time, hiking, travel, and the outdoors.
Tara Bocking, DVMVeterinarian
Dr. Bocking hails from Vancouver Island. After completing her veterinary degree Dr. Bocking did a 1 year internship at the Small Animal Hospital at W.C.V.M. In her spare time Dr. Bocking enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family.

Arlana Powell, AHTOffice Administrator
Arlana graduated from Fairview College in 1981 and has worked in many clinics as a Veterinary Technologist. She is our capable Office Administrator. Arlana is calm, focused, organized and helpful and she loves gardening, quilting, family and pets.
Helen Turner, RVTVeterinary Technologist
Helen graduated from Fairview College in 1980 and has been with us since 2010. An invaluable member of our team, Helen is hardworking, enthusiastic and compassionate. She loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking, kayaking, birding and volunteering.
Coreen Lunt, RVTVeterinary Technologist
Coreen graduated from Thompson Rivers University in 1988 and we’ve had the pleasure of working with her since 1994. She is efficient, hardworking and supportive – and her talents shine in the OR. Coreen loves family, soccer, running, travel and gardening.
Jocelyn Lavoie, RVTVeterinary Technologist
Jocelyn, a Thompson Rivers University graduate, has been with us since 1995. She is kind, compassionate, hardworking, supportive and an essential part of our team. Jocelyn loves gardening, soapmaking, cooking, reading and learning new things.
Lynn Burks, AHTVeterinary Technologist
Lynn graduated from Thompson Rivers University in 1996, but she’s been with us since 2004 (although she’s been working in pet care since 1990!). She is thorough, kind, caring and dedicated. Lynn loves gourmet cooking, kayaking and animals.
Marrissa, RVTVeterinary Technologist
Marrissa began working with us as a kennel assistant while in highschool and has since graduated from TRU as an Animal Health Technician. She loves the nursing aspect of her job, and her coworkers appreciate her cheerful and positive attitude.
Our Reception and Client Care
Pat has worked in veterinary offices for most of her career and in 2008 she brought her expertise to ours! Sweet, calm and supportive, Pat is an effervescent presence in our office. She loves pets, quilting, gardening and friends.
Except for a brief hiatus in the human medical field, Vanessa has worked as a veterinary assistant since 2006. She is energetic, organized and efficient. Vanessa loves spending time with her two kids, going to the gym, coaching/playing soccer and traveling.
J. H.Veterinary Assistant
J graduated from the West Coast College of Health Care in 2004 and she has been with us since 2014. She is knowledgeable, hardworking and thorough – a great addition to our team. She loves hiking, camping, natural health and nutrition.
Nicole graduated from the WCC as a Veterinary Assistant in 2004 and has been with us since March 2015. She enjoys family time, crocheting, camping, and antique shopping. Her upbeat personality is infectious and she is a great team player.
